What is Responsive Website?

A responsive web design automatically adjusts for different-sized screens and viewports. With a responsive website, someone can browse your website from any device and it will still look and function perfectly.

How Responsive Websites Work:

A typical website is comprised of a set of files (each web page-home page, about page, etc.-is an individual file). Each file contains HTML code and content (text and images). Web pages are styled with files called Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). For ease of explanation, let’s say that a standard (non-responsive) website has a set of files and a few CSS files that govern the look of the site.

A responsive website applies an alternate set of CSS files depending on the device being used to access the site. The site looks and ‘responds’ differently based on the device.

Benefits of Responsive Website:

Usability:

Loyalty means very little in the mobile web. Even if a customer likes your desktop website and has used it in the past, the vast majority of mobile users will abandon your website in a heartbeat in favour of a more mobile-friendly one while they are out using their smart phones. Responsive web design enables us to make sure your mobile website looks, feels and most of all WORKS great no matter how your customers or potential customers are surfing.

Increase in Lead and Conversion Rate:

High User experience and Lower bounce rate can increase the conversation rate. Unfortunately, it only does its job at 50%. If the website is not responsive and every time the user redirect to device-specific website to access your services than possibly your visitor will lose interest in services. Having a responsive website can improve the lead and conversion rate.

The Competitive Edge:

Having a website that works well across platforms gives you a competitive edge because, actually, very few businesses (especially small businesses) have one. Be the business with the website customers want and can use and you can expect sales and leads to expand well beyond the competition! But you can’t afford to wait… more business are waking up to this fact. Be one of the early adopters and snag those customers before anyone else does!

Higher Ranks in Google (SEO):

Responsive Web Design means higher rankings in Google search. If you make a website then to be found on Google, receive more traffic and leads will be your priority. This priority is a must for any small and big business owner.

Maintenance is a Snap:

When mobile first hit the world, some companies had multiple versions of their websites (one for the desktop, one for Smartphone, etc.) You can see how that quickly became a headache when it was time to update the website. With responsive web design, you have just one website that adapts to the format it’s being viewed on, which means there is only one website that needs to be updated. Whew!

Increases Reach to Tablet and Mobile:

Increasing use of the internet and explosion of web applications on mobile and tablet and has been the driving force behind the Responsive Web Design.
